TABC Seller/Server FAQ
Here are some frequently asked questions about our Texas course.
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) refined the Texas Liquor Control Act into the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code in 1977. This code authorizes the TABC to enforce alcohol licenses at all stages. The term seller/server of alcohol refers to any person providing alcoholic beverages to customers, from convenience stores to bartenders. An approved TABC seller/server course will ensure you sell and serve alcohol in a responsible manner. In many cases, your employer will require you to have TABC certification before you can begin selling or serving alcoholic beverages.
In Texas, you must be 18 years old to serve alcohol, whether retail or restaurant. In order to pour alcohol while serving, such as a bartender, you must be 21 years old.
